Summary
Technology and innovation are reshaping how risks are identified, managed and prevented across rural workplaces, creating both new opportunities and fresh challenges for the sector.
Hosted by IOSH President Richard Bate, the final session in this three-part series explores how emerging technologies are transforming health and safety in agriculture and other rural industries. Joining Richard will be rural safety leaders and specialist practitioners who are using technology to improve safety outcomes across a wide range of rural settings.
Together, they’ll discuss how tools such as drones, sensors, smart technology and artificial intelligence are helping organisations identify hazards, manage risks and prevent harm. The session will explore how AI and connected technologies can strengthen oversight, improve monitoring in remote environments and support safer decision-making in challenging rural locations.
The panel will also examine how lessons learned from incidents and near misses can drive innovation, with practical examples of how technology is being used to prevent harm and improve workplace safety.
Looking to the future, the discussion will consider how technological advances may continue to shape rural safety and what organisations and health and safety professionals need to do to prepare.
Join us to discover how innovation can help create safer, healthier rural workplaces while unlocking new opportunities for the sector.
