Your questions answered
-
Can I upgrade to a higher membership grade before I finish my course?
Yes, if you complete your qualification early or gain relevant work experience, you can request an upgrade at any time.
You’ll need to submit your qualification certificate, transcript and CV. We’ll assess your application and let you know which grade you're eligible for. There's no additional fee to request an upgrade.
-
What if I’m extending my health and safety studies?
Email us official confirmation from your course provider showing your new end date. We'll extend your Student membership at no extra cost.
-
What happens if I don't upgrade my membership after completing my qualification?
If you choose not to upgrade to Technical or Certified membership in your final year of Student membership, then your Student membership will end and you will be invited to renew as an Affiliate member.
You’ll lose access to member benefits like the Career Hub, mentoring programme and discounted events.
However, you can rejoin IOSH at any time in the future at the appropriate membership grade.
