Are you ready to use your expertise to support the occupational safety and health (OSH) profession? Then this your chance, as we’re looking for an IOSH member to join our Finance and Investment Committee.

Who can apply?

This position is open to IOSH members at all levels. You'll need to be a fully-paid up member. Your CPD, where it's a requirement of your grade, must be up-to-date.

We’re keen to ensure our committees are diverse, inclusive and represent all parts of our membership. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

Skills and experience

We’re looking for IOSH members who:

  • have experience managing budgets or financial resources (for example, in occupational safety and health roles)
  • can interpret financial information and ask the right questions
  • understand risk and compliance
  • are collaborative and strategic thinkers
  • ideally have experience serving on a committee or board (or are willing to learn).

If you’ve managed budgets, overseen projects or worked with financial reports, this is a great opportunity to enhance your skills. You’ll learn more about IOSH and make new connections.

Time commitment

You have clear and manageable commitments. Your responsibilities include:

  • four virtual meetings per year (additional meetings may sometimes be necessary)
  • reading and reviewing papers between meetings.

Appointments are for a two- or three-year term. Terms of office are staggered to ensure continuity. The role is voluntary and unpaid but we reimburse reasonable expenses.

Shortlist and interview

We’ll invite shortlisted applicants for an interview.
