Chance to influence the future of the profession
The Presidential team work closely with the Institution in an ambassadorial capacity, supporting the delivery of key strategic messages to the membership and to the wider profession.
The Presidential team
Composed of the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, and up to four Vice-Presidents.
It represents IOSH to members in our communities and at events and conferences – both local and international. The team also promotes our work through a variety of media.
It’s a unique chance to shape the future of occupational safety and health. We’d welcome your fresh perspective and skills in this key volunteering role.
Who can apply?

You must be a paid-up IOSH member
Hold an up-to-date continuing professional development (CPD) record and be one of the following:
- a Chartered Member, who is on our Council
- a Chartered Member, who is on an IOSH Community committee
- a Chartered Member of a standing committee (IOSH board committees & the nominations committee)
- a Chartered Fellow.

How to apply
We need two completed forms:
- an application form
- a supporting statement.
Your supporting statement should come from either your direct line manager (if in employment) or a senior industry peer (if self-employed).
IOSH members cannot provide supporting statements. It must come from a non-member.
Before you apply, please look at IOSH’s conflicts of interest policy. At the shortlisting stage, we’ll ask you to declare any conflicts specific to the role.
Key dates
We’ll email you to let you know if your application has progressed to the next stage of the selection process.
- Applications will be closing Friday 19 June 2026 at 5pm.
- Interviews will take place on Friday 14 and Tuesday 18 August 2026.
