Join our thriving community of over 50,000 OSH professionals
Our professional membership is recognised worldwide and brings many benefits. It's also an excellent way to support our vision of creating a safer and healthier world for all workers. Whether you’re at the beginning of your career or an established practitioner, IOSH membership can give you the support and guidance you need to progress further and achieve international recognition.
How much does membership cost?
All new members, apart from those eligible for Student membership, join as Affiliate Members and pay £216 (including a one-off administration fee) for the first year. Once you've joined, we'll support you in transferring to the membership category which reflects your knowledge, qualifications and experience. There is no extra cost.
If you're eligible to progress your membership through one of our assessment routes, you will need to pay the appropriate fee. We'll let you know when your membership is up for renewal. See our renewals page for details, including costs for your grade.
Are you eligible for financial support?
In certain circumstances, we can provide financial assistance towards membership and assessment fees. And if you are an existing or former IOSH member, we may be able to offer financial support in certain situations through our Benevolent Fund.

The membership application process is currently on our old website, but we are in the process of moving it to this site. If you'd prefer to join by post or email, download the form at the bottom of this page. Once you've joined as an Affiliate member, you can request an upgrade to the membership category that reflects your knowledge, qualifications and experience.

Help and reasonable adjustments
We are committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in all that we do. To ensure no member or potential member is at a disadvantage, we can make reasonable adjustments to support your application. These can include allowing extra time for membership assessments and providing access to alternative formats.
We consider all requests in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, to ensure equal access to membership assessments and the elimination of unlawful or unfair discrimination, whether direct or indirect.
