Summary
In today’s fast-changing world of work, sustainability in OSH goes beyond compliance – it’s about creating resilient, forward-thinking practices that protect people, business and the planet.
This is the second session of our three-part webinar series ‘Sustainability in action’. Author Ahmed Elidrisy, HSE, ESG and Sustainability Manager at Qatar Free Zones Authority, will be in conversation with Richard Bate, IOSH President-Elect. They’ll explore the complex global realities of sustainability in OSH, from extreme climates and inconsistent regulations to multicultural workforces and shifting perceptions of risk.
From the searing 50°C heat of the Middle East to the boardrooms of international safety leadership, this session looks at several issues of concern.
- How the absence of consistent sustainability laws can hinder real progress.
- The rising threat of climate-driven heatwaves, and the urgent need for clearer strategies to protect workers.
- How multicultural teams perceive and respond to OSH differently, and how we can bridge those gaps.
- Critically, how we shift the mindset that sees OSH as a blocker, repositioning it instead as a driver of smart, sustainable business practice.
Join us for rich insights, real-world examples and a truly global perspective as we strive to build safer, smarter workplaces equipped for the challenges of tomorrow.
This webinar follows the first in the series on 1 May and precedes the final one on 3 July. See Related events below.
