The consequences of a fall from height
10.45-11.15 Wednesday 22 January, Keynote Theatre
This panel session will look at the impact a fall from height can have on the OSH professional and all parties concerned. Hear from the No Falls Foundation, the charity dedicated to preventing falls from height; the Access Industry Forum, the voice of the work at height sector; the Chair of the IOSH Sports grounds and events group committee; and IOSH President Kelly Nicoll. They will address how we tackle the leading cause of fatal injury to workers in the UK today.
Beyond the workday: safeguarding health and safety with the Right to Disconnect
11.40-12.10 Wednesday 22 January, Wellbeing Hub
With the rise of remote work and blurred work-life boundaries, employees face increasing pressures that may compromise their wellbeing, mental health and overall safety. The UK government’s proposed Right to Disconnect law aims to set limits on after-hours work communications, giving employees protected time to rest and recharge. We will examine the potential OSH benefits of this policy and the implications of accommodating greater flexibility in the workplace.
Speakers: Richard Bate, IOSH President-Elect; Ruth Wilkinson, IOSH Head of Policy and Public Affairs; and Paul Verrico, Eversheds Sutherland Global Head of Environment, Health and Safety Group
