Type
Webinar

There has been an exponential increase in the use of lithium-ion (or Li-ion) batteries. The online event will include an overview of these batteries and battery fires. It will cover the definition of thermal runaway, how it occurs, the gases produced and the effects on the human body.

It will include some tactics for managing these incidents. It will also include an insight into what an Airport Fire Service team is doing to manage these incidents. The event will focus on consequence management, including the difficulties in dealing with the aftermath of these incidents, such as vehicle recovery and the structural stability of car parks.

Participants will gain an understanding of Li-ion batteries and fires; the factors they need to consider as part of risk management; and ideas and control measures used by other sectors and in other countries.

Speaker
