Tackling asbestos and silica hazards

This webinar is organised by IOSH Construction Group in partnership with ICOH Scientific Committee on Accident Prevention (SCAP).
Asbestos was banned in the UK in 1999 due to its devastating health impacts. Now, 25 years later, Australia has banned artificial engineered stone for similar reasons. Both materials have a common consequence: exposure can lead to pneumoconiosis, such as asbestosis and silicosis, and deadly conditions like mesothelioma. These are all incurable and life-altering diseases.
This webinar explores the nature of exposure to asbestos and high-silica content. It focuses on the health risks, regulatory developments and the critical role of occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals in preventing exposure. Participants gain insights which they can apply to mitigate these risks and protect workers from long-term health consequences.
Join us to learn how OSH can lead the charge in addressing these hazards and ensuring a safer, healthier future for all workers.
