When your course finishes

If you’re an existing Student Member and have completed your qualification, you’re ready to take the next step in your membership journey.

Moving to your next membership grade shows you’re serious about the profession. The benefits of continuing to be part of our global community include:

  • better job prospects, including support at every stage of the job application process
  • the IOSH stamp of excellence – we’re recognised around the world as the benchmark for professional safety and health excellence
  • a large network of like-minded professionals
  • continued access to the latest news, policy updates and research.

Follow these three steps to discover your next member grade.

  1. Please send a copy of your official qualification certificate or results letter, transcript or module list and an updated CV to studentmembership@iosh.com. If you do not have your certificate or transcript yet, we can accept an official letter from your tutor or qualification provider.

  2. Once you’ve sent us the relevant documents, we’ll assess your qualifications and work experience to match you to your next member grade. We’ll get in touch to confirm your grade and arrange payment of your first annual fee.

  3. You’ll need to pay the one-off renewal fee for your new grade. The current annual subscription rates, which are valid until 31 March 2025, are:

    • Technical Member – £153.00
    • Certified Member – £170.00.

How to extend your Student membership

If you’re extending your qualification, please email us an official confirmation from your qualification provider. This needs to include the new end date. We can then extend your Student membership.

If you choose not to progress, your membership ends three months after your qualification finishes.
